Football betting tips online for Watford – Aston Villa

Watford hosts Aston Villa at the Vicarage Road in a match from the first round of the Premier League 2021/22 season. The Hornets are among the newcomers in the competition, but could they get a winning start here? Let’s discuss in our football betting tips online.

After a short stint in the Championship, Watford returned to the Premier League once again. Their main goal is keeping their place in the competition, but they are also aware this requires a lot of efforts.

Watford are currently managed by the young Spanish head coach Xisco – a former player and a well-known name in La Liga. He was appointed at the position at the end of 2020 and he quickly delivered by winning a promotion to the Premier League. Just 40-years old, Xisco is currently one of the youngest managers in the Prem. Now he’s facing the biggest challenge in his young career as a coach.

On the summer transfer market Watford did some moves to reinforce their squad. The club paid 10 million euro to Nantes for the midfielder Imran Louza while they also spent 4 million to buy Club Brugge’s striker Emmanuel Dennis. The 23-years old Nigerian scored just one goal for the Belgian side last season, so it’s a little bit confusing why Watford decided to sign him, but we guess they see some bigger potential in him. He also had a short loan spell in Koln during the 2020/21 campaign, but finished with just one goal as well.

Watford added some experience to their squad as well. The Hornets signed the left-back Danny Rose from Tottenham Hotspur while they also reinforced their attacking line with the Norwegian international Joshua King. Meanwhile Watford loaned another Nigerian – Stoke City’s Peter Etebo, who should bring another option in midfield.

At the same time Watford part ways with the experienced centre-back Craig Dawson who moved to West Ham. Ben Wilmot, Carlos Sanchez, Peter Etebo and Jerome Sinclair left the club as well.

There’s a transfer rumour which is bringing some excitement to Watford’s fans at the moment. It’s being reported that the club is negotiating a deal for the Norwegian international Morten Thorsby. The 25-years old midfielder is currently playing for Sampdoria in the Serie A, but he’s open to joining the Premier League. Thorsby is a player with some fine quality who could really improve Watford’s midfield.

So far Watford won just one of their friendlies during the pre-season. Xisco’s team defeated Colchester United, but they suffered a defeat against Brentford and also made two draws against West Bromwich Albion and Stevenage. These are just friendlies, though – the results are not the most important thing here.

Aston Villa had a decent 2020/21 as they finished 11th in the league standings, so now the Villans hope to improve this achievement and enter the Top 10. Obviously they didn’t have a reason to part ways with the manager Dean Smith who remains the head coach. He’s doing a good work since his appointment in 2018 – he didn’t just win a promotion for Aston Villa, he’s keeping the club in the Premier League as well.

Aston Villa are having an exciting summer on the transfer market so far. It’s just a matter of hours before they sell their captain Jack Grealish for 100 million pounds, so Villa are already using these money. Three players were already signed for a total fee which exceeds 100 million euro.

These three players are Norwich City’s winger Emiliano Buendia, Southampton’s striker Danny Ings and Bayer Leverkusen’s Leon Bailey. The club also brought back its former player Ashley Young on a free transfer. These four signings are massive and it brings some serious excitement to the club’s fans.

Jack Grealish is going to be missed for sure, but Villa already made enough to replace him. Emiliano Buendia showed some great performances for Norwich City in the Championship and he was a key player for the Canaries’ promotion. He’s quick and technical winger who also has an eye for the goal. Goals and assists – that’s what Aston Villa will expect from him.

Danny Ings is a striker who revived his career after leaving Liverpool and joining Southampton. The 29-years old scored 41 Premier League goals for the Saints, so it was not a surprise he was a wanted man on the market. There were rumours he could join Tottenham Hotspur, but now he’s an Aston Villa player. Ings’ best season was the 2019/20 campaign when he scored 25 goals in 42 games for Southampton.

Leon Bailey is another reason for Aston Villa fans to get excited. Just 23-years old, Bailey is a dangerous winger who scored 39 goals in 156 appearances for Bayer Leverkusen. The Jamaican international has the potential to become a star in the next few years, so Aston Villa really made a terrific signing here. Last season Leon Bailey scored 15 goals for Leverkusen in all competitions, so his numbers are impressive as well. We have no doubts that Leon Bailey will quickly become a starter for Aston Villa – he has the potential to prove himself in the Premier League.

Aston Villa showed muscles in their last friendly game up to date. The Villans faced Bristol City away from home and secured a 3-0 win away from home. Their biggest test during the pre-season will come in the next few days when they will face La Liga giants Sevilla at the Villa Park. For the fans this would be a great chance to see their team’s real condition before the start of the season.

That’s the football betting tips online for the Premier League fixture between newcomers Watford and Aston Villa. The visitors are favorites in this clash at the Vicarage Road, but we are still about to see what the Hornets can offer us since their promotion. Aston Villa seriously reinforced their squad with new signings, but let’s see how much they will miss their talismanic captain Jack Grealish.
