Mainz 05 hosts Freiburg in a match from the 18th round

Let’s take our attention to the Opel Arena in Mainz where Mainz 05 hosts Freiburg in a match from the 18th round of the Bundesliga. This is a great opportunity for us to present you our soccer matches tomorrow for the day.

Somehow Mainz 05 are managing to stay out of the relegation zone, but still not far enough from it. Right now the club is 14th in the standings with 18 points and a record of 6 wins and 11 losses. At this moment Mainz are the only team in the league without any draws in the matches played. Is it now the time for the first one?

Last week Mainz suffered their 11th loss for the season. Achim Beierlorzer’s team hosted Bayer Leverkusen and had to admit their opponent’s superiority after a 0-1 loss at the Opel Arena. In the 71th minute Leverkusen got a player sent off, but despite of this they scored a winning goal in the 93th minute via the substitute Lucas Alario.

Freiburg were doing really good in the league so far, but having won just one of their last five matches, they fell back to 8th place in the standings. Last week Freiburg missed a good opportunity to beat Schalke 04 at the Veltins Arena, having a goal lead until the 80th minute. Nils Petersen and Vincenzo Grifo scored two penalties for the visitors, but Schalke saved a point after a late equaliser from Ahmed Kutucu.

Freiburg’s manager Christian Streich has some problems before the trip to Mainz. Nicolas Hofler is suspended for the match, while Lukas Kubler and Yoric Ravet are injured.

Meanwhile Mainz 05 can’t use the injured Danny Latza, Stefan Bell and Jeremiah St. Juste.

In our soccer matches tomorrow we can make the conclusion that for Freiburg this is a good opportunity to improve their results, but they will have to deal with Mainz 05’s home advantage. It’s going to be interesting.
