Soccer predictions that win for Denmark – Russia

Denmark faces Russia at the Parken Stadium in Copenhagen in a game from Group B of the European Championship. We are happy you are here, so let’s preview this fixture in the following online soccer predictions that win.

For Denmark nothing really goes well during the Euro 2020. We all know what happened with Christian Eriksen in their first game while in the second one they suffered a second consecutive defeat against Belgium. At this moment the Scandinavians are 4th in this group and the only team with zero points after two games played.

The Danish side made an inspiring performance during the 1-2 defeat against Belgium few days ago. At halftime they had an advantage after Yussuf Poulsen’s goal in the second minute, but everything changed at the moment when Kevin De Bruyne entered the pitch for the Belgians. De Bruyne inspired the Red Devils who successfully scored two goals in the second half and took the win. The Manchester City ace assisted for Belgium’s first goal and scored the second one.

Despite the loss, Denmark’s fans can’t be mad at their players for the way they performed. Motivated to play for Christian Eriksen, Kasper Hjulmand’s boys gave their all on the pitch, but the truth is they faced one of the best teams in the world right now. What Denmark could regret about is the chances they missed in the first half, especially in the beginning. That’s when the Red Dynamite controlled the game and created some opportunities, but scored only one goal.

Kasper Hjulmand decided to use a 3-4-3 formation against Belgium. In the absence of Eriksen, he put Mikkel Damsgaard and Martin Braithwaite near the striker Yussuf Poulsen while Thomas Delaney Pierre Emil Hojbjerg had to operate as a duo in central midfield. It really worked well in the first half when Denmark dominated, but in the second half Belgium found their ground and did much, much better.

The Danish team could offer something new in their third game now. More or less, they don’t have anything to lose now. If Kasper Hjulmand decides to rotate the line-up, he could choose some players from the bench. Andreas Cornelius is an interesting option for the attack because of his impressive height while Christian Norgaard could refresh the midfield with some new ideas. Brentford’s Mathias Jensen is also an option for the middle area of the pitch where Denmark failed to deliver in the second half against Belgium.

Russia are in a different situation compared to Denmark after their 1-0 win over Finland in their previous game. Sbornaya revived their chances of qualification and now they have 3 points in this group. They know very well that a win against Denmark will send them to the 1/8-finals of the Euro.

Russia really needed the win against Finland. It wasn’t easy, but they found a way to get it. Sbornaya scored their only goal in the game in the injury time of the first half when Aleksey Miranchuk used an assist from Artem Dzyuba. He found the net behind Lucas Hradecky and scored probably his most important goal for the national team to date.

Russia’s head coach Stanislav Cherchesov showed that he’s a flexible tactician. The manager decided to change his formation entirely compared to what he used during the 0-3 defeat against Belgium. In the last game Russia used a 3-5-2 formation which was often being switched to 3-6-1 with Aleksey Miranchuk behind Artem Dzyuba’s back. Mario Fernandes and Daler Kuzyaev operated from the wings while Ozdoev, Zobnin and Golovin had to fight for the center of the pitch. This idea of Cherchesov worked well because Russia won the game after all. The question is – will he pick this formation again for the decisive third game in the group?

Cherchesov’s problem for the third game is the injury of the right back Mario Fernandes. The fell very badly on his back in the previous game, and had to be stretched out. Almost surely he’s not going to play against Denmark because he will need some time for recovery. The good news from the medical staff is that Fernandes’ condition is good and he’s not in any danger for a long-term harm. Against Finland Fernandes was replaced by Vyacheslav Karavaev, and most likely Karavaev will start against the Red Dynamite as well.

Russia’s captain Artem Dzyuba is still looking for his first goal at the Euro 2020. The 32-years old striker has scored 29 goals for the national team so far and you can see why the whole nation expects so much from him. Against Finland he delivered an assist for the winning goal, but now the team will need his goals against Denmark. Dzyuba must prove why he’s regarded as one of the most important players in the Russian side. And its captain, of course.

Spartak Moscow’s midfielder Roman Zobnin was really important during the win against Finland. Zobnin was the heart of the Russian team in midfield and his work-rate was absolutely crucial against Suomi. Zobnin is a dynamic player who runs a lot without the ball, and that’s one of his biggest strenghts. Together with Ozdoev and Golovin, Zobnin must win the middle of the pitch on Monday and allow his team to win this game.

That’s our online soccer predictions that win for the Euro 2020 game between Denmark and Russia from Group B. For the Danish side this game can’t do much, but could win them some prestige at the end of the group stage. But for Russia it’s something much more – it could allow them to quality for the 1/8-finals of the competition. Sbornaya has to win this game at any cost, although it won’t be easy – they must deal with the atmosphere at the Parken where the majority of the fans would be Danish. But that’s how you achieve your biggest wins in life – sometimes it’s happening in a hostile environment.
